Welcome. This site contains hand turned wooden items made by myself. I turn bowls of all sizes, boxes with simple lids and elegant boxes with beautiful finial tops. You will find items to make sewing and knitting even more enjoyable. If you are searching for accent pieces there are weed pots for dried arrangements and birdhouse and icicle ornaments for the window or tree.
If you are in need of an accent button to hold on a shawl, sweater closed, or help keep your hair in place, I think you'll like my buttons and pins. I have some very nice wood pendants that will surely draw some attention and comments.
My barbell rattles will delight your baby. For the kid in all of us, or the 8-year old in your life, check out my pull string tops. No batteries or Internet required.
Everything you find here is intended to be pleasing to the eye and touch. My intention is to turn items that are practical enough to be used, tempting enough to be handled, and worthy enough to be passed on within the family. I believe my products should add to the overall experience of ownership.
In my wood turning, I use both domestic and exotic woods to create forms with superb durable finishes. Most of the items you will find here are made from wood native to the United States (cherry, holly, walnut, pine, ash, maple). All of my wood is harvested from fallen trees, land fills, and firewood piles. I never cut a tree that is not already on the ground. I like the thought that I can give the wood a second life.
Recently I read somewhere that wood turning is one of the fastest growing activities in the United States. If you like to create things and like to work with your hands,I strongly recommend you give turning a try. Although it can most definitely have its "exciting moments", when done right it is a relaxing, but challenging activity that can be investigated at a reasonable cost.
So come on in and look around. The site will be constantly changing so visit often.
